What is GYROTONIC®?

A three dimensional exercise system, GYROTONIC® training uses equipment comprised of weighted pulleys and rotational discs, which works the whole body at once. Gyrotonic blends fundamentals from yoga, gymnastics, swimming, kundalini yoga and ballet. The work incorporates spinal curling, arching, twisting, spiraling and lengthening movements, as well as other joint articulations. The movements promote coordination, flexibility, endurance, strength and mobilization. Clients note that after a workout, they feel mobilized, centered and very elongated. With its circular and rotational motions, Gyrotonic is noted to improve one’s golf swing, tennis game, tango dance practice and even diminish spinal scoliotic asymmetries.

What is Yoga for Golfers™?

Yoga for Golfers™ in an innovative Hatha Yoga format specifically designed for golfers. Incorporating flexibility, strength, balance, core conditioning, and concentration of the mind, it’s an effective stand alone conditioning program and pre-game warm-up. Developed by Katherine Roberts, Yoga for Golfers addresses common swing faults, injury prevention, strength and flexibility goals specific to golfers.

What is Pilates?

Combining eastern and western forms of conditioning including gymnastics, boxing and yoga, Pilates is a whole body exercise system utilizing both spring resistance equipment as well a floor exercises. Pressing or pulling the springs of the Pilates equipment creates resistance and engagement of directed muscles groups. Depending on the placement of the body in relationship to springs, the force and apparatus use change function. The equipment either creates a resistance to work against, or assists in body motions to aid and increase flexibility and ranges of motion. Hence, Pilates strengthens and lengthens. The Pilates system focuses on alignment while working out the whole body. Asymmetries and muscular imbalances are addressed to create a complete and centering workout.

What to expect at Sage Fitness®:

We offer 60 minute one-on-one Pilates and GYROTONIC® training sessions, by appointment. Sage Fitness® is dedicated to quality personal training through instructing Pilates and GYROTONIC® with personal care.

Pamela Warshay and her staff's fitness backgrounds make Sage Fitness® an ideal environment for fitness/wellness programs. Our instructors teach exercise routines specifically catered to each client's needs. Exercise routines are individually tailored to help each client reach their goals of physical balance, strength and flexibility.

First and foremost, posture and alignment are the focus of every workout. Each client's "core" center is engaged and worked during their session. Clients learn to develop serious abdominal strength to support all body conditioning movements. Asymmetries, imbalances, structural weaknesses and past or current injuries are addressed to help shape each client's workout.

Whether a beginner or an advanced exercise student, clients get a challenging workout to help them reach their optimum physical goals.
